Formerly Burns worked for the City of Easthampton’s Planning Department as the Coordinator for Easthampton City Arts. Burns first became a member of CitySpace in 2009.
His hobbies include crafting and refurbishing furniture, fiber arts, cooking, and woodworking.īurns Maxey is a committed community development and marketing professional with a focus on partnership building, economic and individual growth through expanded community engagement. Spencer earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre with a focus in Technical Design and Production from Providence College, and took courses in theatrical design at Rhode Island College. Before joining the staff at PC, Spencer worked as a technician for production companies in RI and southern MA, and as a carpenter and electrician with high school theatre programs. As the Assistant Technical Director at Providence College for more than a decade, Spencer spearheaded the construction and implementation of more than 35 stage productions and over 40 other events in the Bowab and Blackfriars Theatres. Since starting as a stagehand at the age of 12, Spencer has developed his skills and passion for technical theatre. A native of Cape Cod, Spencer has spent more than 20 years involved in theatre production. Spencer Long Crockett recently returned to Massachusetts after more than 15 years living and working in and around Providence, Rhode Island. His Assistant Art Director credits for film include Spiderman, Family Man, Meet Joe Black, The First Wives Club, Batman Forever, Nobody’s Fool, Quiz Show, and Six Degrees of Separation.Įd also worked on the design for a permanent exhibition space at the Flynt Center of Early New England Life in Historic Deerfield, MA to house a permanent fiber art collection.Įd is a graduate from the Yale School of Drama and the State University of New York, College at Purchase, and served as both treasurer and president of CitySpace.
Įd’s art direction credits for film and TV include Sex And The City: The Movie, as well as the first four seasons of the HBO series for which he received two Emmy nominations for Best Art Direction. In 2014, he traveled to China to design the set for Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice. Ed’s regional theatre design credits include sets for Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Northampton’s New Century Theatre, and the Chester Theatre Company. He designed the set for the 2013 premiere of the opera The Garden of Martyrs (in Northampton), as well as for the opera The Scarlet Professor. Ed Check teaches set and production design for theatre and film at Smith College, and regularly designs for their Theatre Department.
